Greek philosophers didn't see colour as barbaric. the only Greek philosophers with writings on color was Aristotle and he found it as a natural boundary physical things were bound to. The only reason they would have said color was barbaric and to distinguish themselves further from things they found inferior. just something I can add to the conversation not that big of a deal.

Colors are coming back to cars. The issue isn’t culture or any of that it’s generational. Terms like “Millenial grey” stems from this issue where they tend to like minimal design notes due their world growing up. Furthermore gen Z is actually reviving colors back into the mainstream, the color blue red yellow and green are making a comeback in the car world.

Ancient societies were actually Obsessed with color! Statues in both ancient greece and rome were all covered in bright colors, but those faded over time leaving only the white marble underneath, just take a look at some preserved villas in pompeii or herculaneum, they had colorfully painted every room, every shop, every aspect of life

The last generation was unbelievably gaudy and colorful, because of that, the current generation, tired of it and rebellious does the complete opposite. The generation after ours will probably be gaudy and colorful again for the exact same reason, it's a constant fight of over course corrections.

Millennial grey is out of fashion now, young people much prefer mid century modern styles now, and obviously other styles that incorporate colour.

1. Greek statues were very colourful.
2. Cars are limited in colour for re-sale value. That's it.

It’s leveling out with my generation (I’m 16) I think, we’re just not formal anymore, and I like it, shouldn’t have to wear clothes you don’t wanna to look a certain way unless it’s uniform, suits to me just scream “I’m rich and I like looking rich so people praise me as a God”
