This. She literally campaigned on continuing supporting Israel and Dems/liberals/leftists expect people, especially Muslim Americans / Palestinians to vote for her knowing she was actively part of the admin paying israhell… ?

it was also wild to see black folks say we should focus on black struggles instead of palestine as if they’re not connected. people bring up sudan as a “gotchya” as if israeli surveillance tech isn’t being used to orchestrate the genocide in sudan too. it’s orchestrated empathy to rid internal guilt. all our struggles are truly connected and that was too hard a pill for some people to swallow.

“Harm reduction” is still harm, except this time the harm isn’t just done to minorities in USA soil and/or abroad, but to the privileged ones that were comfortable to turn a blind eye. There were concentration camps under biden, the only difference now is that no one can turn a blind eye anymore. They said “get her in office and protest later” but everyone protested even during her campaign and she just doubled down. When we say she was gonna be like trump, we mean she was gonna be like biden, like obama (as much as I love him for his charisma) the oligarchs didnt just form their little group in 2025, they have been around for years and not even biden did anything to stop them from gathering power for themselves until it was too late.

the difference between a liberal and a leftist/socialist. liberals all hail democrats, leftists are anti-imperialism and capitalism and america altogether because of the grief and destruction it has caused everywhere else in the world. the more you learn about real us history, the more disgusted and frustrated you get with being an american.

no this is so real: our domestic life is taking a slight nosedive but there are places being hurt by both sides of the aisle wherein their domestic life is infinitely worse BECAUSE ours comes first. as a black queer low income person? I’m willing to weigh tragedy. I recognize mine is not the worst right now.

Love every word you’ve said here. As a black woman I’ve also noticed how so many members of our community are struggling to recognize how our oppression and privilege as Black Americans co-exist. And while fear over a Trump presidency is 100% valid, our comfort at the expense of most other countries (especially the ppl in Palestine) has never sat right with me. I think the sooner we realize how our oppression in the US is connected to the oppression people in other countries face at the hands of our politicians, military, and billionaires, the sooner we can actually do something about it.

Part of me also believed Kamala loosing was something as a whole (Us americans) deserved in a way. Like you said why do others have to face violent unrest while we get to sit back and benefit off their sorrows. Weve been doing it for years

HEAVY on the college part! Its taken me years to unlearn all the BS about america being the good guy they teach us growing up. Going to college plus everything happening in Palestine/Sudan/Congo really is such a huge eye opener that everyones struggles are truly connected. America is the reason for everyone elses struggles

THAT PART. i voted for kamala because i live in nevada (one of the most purple states in the country with few third parties). i voted according to my situation, but a LOT of the kamala crew lacks perspective. americans at large have a terrible complacency issue. it's a problem on both sides. even if she had won, kamala was *not* going to "fix" america even if she was the "lesser evil" and it's important to remember that america has been a terrible nation literally since it was founded. i will NEVER blame people who did not vote her on palestine or other issues because the reality is just that a lot of these online discourse topics people insist "ruined" the election did not ruin it at all! it's politician's job to win our votes, no politician democrat or republican is entitled to a vote at ALL.

US politics are so right wing that the bare minimum is seen as radical and unfathomable people do not want to realize that any of our electable options will all be the same when it comes down to it the differences will be miniscule compared to the bigger picture
