DUDE, I hate writing, it just doesn’t come naturally to me but I’m currently writing my masters thesis (typical engineer lol) and i’m very much in the “i’m gonna get it done but lemme complain a bit while i do” phase. THE AMOUNT OF PPL WHO HAVE TOLD ME TO USE CHAT GPT FOR MY MASTERS THESIS IS INSAINE, like not only would that potentially risk invalidating my degree, but also I’ve put 2+ years of my life into this research and you think catch gpt will be able to accurately sum that up? Like that’s almost an insult to me and my work at that point!

I have the feeling that writing vlogs, where authors will actually take viewers "behind the scenes" of their book writing process will become more and more necessary, to showcase that the author is not using AI. almost like a social proof, if you wanna call it that

like it genuinely scares me that some “authors” dont feel the pure and utter giddy joy that comes with forming your world from the ground up, from those random little lore pieces falling into place out of nowhere at 2am, FROM CREATING!!!! humans have GOT to go back to using our brains again!!

I don’t understand people who think AI should be used, but using it to come up with ideas is the craziest thing to me. I have a new idea embed itself in my brain so often I’ll never in my entire life be able to write a fraction of them.

I do use Ai. I use it to help me with what I need for my world so I dont miss important stuff, if I cant find it from google. I also use it for inspo for and customize the ideas to my liking. I shouldnt have shame for that.

I’ve been writing since I was 9yo and my literature teacher told my grandma “you have a little writer in your hands”. I do it for the love of it, because it makes me happy, and because I’m damn good at it. Wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Everyone out here talking like that HAVE to become an author so they HAVE to use AI...nobody is forcing you to become an author..I don't get it.. I'm a designer, my job is highly threatened by AI so I get mad when people talk about using it so easily

i was talking to my brother's therapist about what i wanted to do in the future and i said author and she told me chatgpt could help me with editing and i said no and she tried to convince me it was okay like no babes there's rumors it uses water and im trying to get out of my AI addiction bc of the water rumors and it doesn't feel like the book is as authentic if i usr AI for it, even if it is just for editing

I would never use generative AI in my writing. A large part of writing is turning an idea back and forth in your head, and spending hours constructing a few sentences. The creative process is all about the frustration and joy and emotions that go into creating it that then bleeds into your work. I don’t believe an AI can or should do that for you.
