I told my grandparents what was going on…and my mom made me call them and say that I lied. She started reading my letters to my family, so I stopped writing.

I had a thyroid cyst appear out of nowhere and grew so large they needed to remove it. I was in an abusive relationship at the time and begged the doctor to wait until I was out of it and I promised him it would shrink. He said, well they don’t really shrink. Sure enough, got out and it shrunk!
