We end up parenting the parents. This is due to babies having babies and the misuse of technology to pasify their behaviors that they don’t want to deal with. It’s so frustrating

We definitely shouldn’t have to but you’re right, we do have to teach it. I want my students to leave my room good human beings so it’s my job to help shape them while they are with me. Someone has to do it.

The way we define respect is different than newer generations do so this will not end well. You have to figure out how modern kids and modern parents see respect. Stop yelling at them to respect people who don’t see them. They demand simple things: see me; like me; stop wasting any time with me; make the minutes we have together count. The kids need to drive respect, I think this is wrong.

Not if we are truly fighting the parents and home training - I agree we should be able to teach respect but I honestly believe it’s an uphill battle and may be beyond
