“Can only provide details of arrested persons who were detained and then taken to a custody suite”… That first line is very telling; many r*pists aren’t arrested and taken to a station when a report comes in. “Street” r*pists are, because the police might have to do a little manhunt for them - but not usually someone’s secretly abusive boyfriend. Those folks are often calmly approached and then asked to come in for questioning, not arrested outright. This stat is even more misleading than I thought!

I appreciate the effort here and agree however that 40% is probably correct, and it should be. London is 38-42% populated by foreign nationals. All this claim does is prove that foreign born residents do not commit more crimes than British nationals.
