And, even though I've been making progress with my Fractals and giving them space to exist, I still have to present as one person in the world. This has made it extremely difficult to introduce myself, say my name, be confident in what people call me... I've felt alone, not relating to my name.. Everyone around me already had theirs, and it felt like a club I couldn't get into. Everyone has a name... Why couldn't I stick to just one? Because we are many. I needed something that encompassed all my parts, all of me, my identities, and something new that we can relate to.. That feels familiar enough. Something that we can see myself as, that we can feel confident in public that all of our parts are held within, and as we meet people, we know we are one. Working on integration, it's been becoming easier to work together, which means we're sailing easier on our pirate ship. Still have a loooong journey to go across the dangerous seas of trauma, but at least we're heading in the right direction. Avi... Like.... An "aha". Like a name for our body. And our soul. And it feels right, because when my wife says it... I feel all of us smile. I'm sorry for confusing everyone on what to call me. It's always a process to go by something new.
