Idk maybe if you’re hired to do a gig just do the gig and leave. You werent being paid to offer advice or manage so sometimes it can be a little insulting to tell the person who hired you that hiring you was unnecessary. even if you said it kindly like hey you know, I’m actually an experienced professional, and seeing how this is going, you would be making more money if you did this yourself, and they said oh? Okay well thanks bye, like you’d leave?? No you’re gonna finish the job so, yeah let the woman know to not talk to you like that and just get ur check. If you absolutely wanted to give them pointers, email them after the show.

I see this unfortunately too much w small/new bands that think they r bigger than they are. They have way too many people n toi much overhead! They book a tour bus for 300 max seat venues its crazy. The good people r very nice most the time. The newbies hv more “problem “ people like that lady

No one has ever once asked our band for merch so I’ve not even bothered. And we still aren’t at a stage where we can be headlining so I feel it’s a bit pretentious as well. We’re just happy to play our set and hand out with the crowd after. When people start asking for merch then we will provide it. Some people are just so full of themselves though

we used to have a local vand in stl that had a momager they were literally like sophomores in high school, basically always sounded like bright eyes or 21pilots complete w attempted to back flip off pianos. rich kids. think i saw them 2x the whole audience was the moms old ppl friends.

I went on tour as a road Tech for both guitarists and the drummer. The only other non-band members were the road manager and the driver. One of us would man the merch table while the other was busy and the members picked up any slack, which was rare. But the number of bands that I’ve never heard again who had way too many people working for them is huge.
