@heethan01_: POV: Ni-ki has been your childhood friend. You've shared memories together since you were kids, and even now, that bond remains strong. He's always looked out for you—almost like an older brother. Of course, he also teases you constantly, to the point of annoyance, which is just normal in your friendship. Ni-ki is one of the best dancers and basketball players in your school, which makes his name a regular topic in conversations. One afternoon, while walking down the school hallway, someone suddenly pulled you into an old, dusty room. You were about to scream—until you heard his voice. "Ni-ki?!" you gasped. He shrugged his shoulders and smiled. "Are you trying to kill me?! I was so scared for a second," you said, clutching your chest as you tried to calm down. "Are you okay? I'm sorry," he said, his smile fading as he noticed your panic. He patted your back and kept apologizing. "Why did you have to pull me like that?" you asked, annoyed, now feeling calmer. "I'm sorry. I just didn't want people to see us." You rolled your eyes. It's not like people don't see you two talking all the time. "What is it? Why drag me to a place like this?" you asked, looking around at the dusty old storage room. "It's serious. I need your help," he said. You raised a brow, choosing to stay quiet and observe his face. "And what is this 'serious' matter?" you asked. "I'm getting married." Your eyes widened, and your body froze. Was he serious? You were both still in college—how could he be getting married? "What? You know how much I hate being pranked," you warned, but his desperate expression said otherwise. "To whom?" you asked. "I don't know. A stranger." You stared at him, confused—but he looked dead serious. "Are you kidding me? Who even set you up for a marriage? Your crazy fangirls?" you laughed, trying to lighten the mood. "My parents. They set up an arranged marriage without even asking for my opinion. They seem really desperate about it." You sighed heavily. You've always had a soft spot for this mischievous boy. "Fine. I'll help. What do you need me to do?" you asked. "Be my fake girlfriend." Your mood instantly changed. "You know I can't do that," you said, glaring at him. "Why not?" "Your parents might get mad at me. And if they realize it's fake, it might push them to go through with the arranged marriage even more," you explained. "But my parents love you. They'd probably be thrilled to accept you as their daughter-in-law. Your parents would be happy too—you know how close our families are." He had a point. Your families were close, which is why you two grew up together in the first place. "I'll try, but if they don't agree, we stop this show," you said seriously. "And if they do agree?" Then that's the real problem. "We'll just say we broke up after a few months. That it didn't work out," you said. "Deal," he replied. "Wait—" you said before ending the conversation. "Hmm?" He paused and turned back toward you. "What do I get out of this? I mean, this helps you avoid marriage." He smirked, slipping his hands into his pockets. "Tell me... what do you want?" "Hmm... I kind of want this bag. It's expensive, and my mom won't buy it since I already have too many," you said, seizing the opportunity. He laughed. You raised your brow. "What?" "That's it? Tell me more—I'll get them all for you." You smiled widely and started listing the things you really wanted. Finally, you remembered one more thing: Ni-ki was smart, unlike you in certain subjects. "Can you tutor me in this one lesson I'm struggling with?" you asked, swallowing your pride. "Of course. I'll come to your house this Saturday." You grinned and patted his shoulder. "Thanks." He kept his promise. He tutored you and even gave you the bag you wanted. The other items, he promised to give you after the act was done, just in case the plan failed. the fact that their parents were forint an engagement on both of them without their approval doesn't sit right with me, even if they are childhood friends and the families are close

When I first came home a little bit after a week , my mom told me something that broke me — she finally admitted that she knew her own brother had touched me when I was younger. I used to ask her about it for years, and she always denied it until now. That truth changed how I saw everything, because how can you trust your own mother after that? I had moved to California with my ex, who ended up being abusive. Even after everything, I stayed because I had a job and was trying to rebuild my life. I lost my apartment after the police were called too many times and ended up in a shelter trying to start over again. I was supposed to stay with my cousin, but she ghosted me. My caseworker reached out to my family to make sure I had somewhere stable, and my mother lied — she told them she could support me when she really couldn’t. She had lost her house after my grandma passed because there was a loan on it, and even though family offered to help, she refused. I ended up staying with one of her friends, and when it was time to move again, she told us we only had a week left. My 16-year-old sister paid the rent and deposit just so we had somewhere to live. I’ve been there for about two months now. But things went bad again. She made me quit my job because she said it was too far (it was only 15 minutes away), and I was giving her my whole check to help out. Then she started getting upset because I have a gay friend I’ve gotten close with. She’s suddenly on this “spiritual journey with God” and said she’s not okay with that — even though she used to be gay herself. After that, everything fell apart. She gave my cat the wrong food, made him sick, and said that was her “last straw.” She tried to call the police on me, but I called them first — because last time she did that, I ended up in a mental health facility for a long time. At this point, I just feel broken and betrayed. My mom has lied to me for years, and now I’m just trying to figure out how to heal and find somewhere safe to start over.
