No, it's mostly death by a thousand cuts. These cuts are the small unresolved problems.

Question 🙋: Then who’s fault is this? The one who’s asking or the one who pulls away?

Protest by nature are almost always confrontational, it stands to reason why the other becomes defensive! People must learn to communicate effectively and with empathy. Influence change don’t demand change

In the words of Khalil Gibran “between what is said and not meant and what is meant but not said most love is lost” 😔

This is exactly what happened to me. I said maybe it's the way I ask for things, so my therapist recommended this great book on non-violent communication. I tried the strategies, also gave her the book. None of if worked. I learnt that if the other person doesn't want to grow and understand, nothing will work and it's time to abandon ship.

Well how can I communicate in a way that doesn’t make my partner pull away ? Do I tell them they don’t need to be perfect or say I’m not trying to criticise? What can I do?

This happened to me recently. Avoidance is the killer of relationships and honestly it’s nobody’s fault. It’s valid people can communicate their needs and wants. But seek to understand, even if it means making you uncomfortable. My other friends haven’t done that and it led to a severe disconnection of a friendship that could’ve gone better. I still have hope though, it’s up to them if they want to come back.

The timing 🥀 recently happened to me and my group of friends... I finally left them and also realised that I truly wasn't looking for fixing it anymore 🙃 They were manipulating as well to be fair
