I didn't even get an interview - I'm a masters qualified social worker with years of experience in complex case mmt plus working with PWD and their carers under the NDIS as a support coordinator.

I’ve tried to get a job with NDIA and I swear it’s because of my history with research and health ethics that made them not even consider me

I did get an interview and 90% of the interview questions were about how I would handle being screamed at multiple times a day 🤦‍♀️

You don’t actually get interviewed by a human now, interviews are being done by AI, no human interaction unless you get offered the job and accept it.

Well, we say hire people that actually know what they’re doing. They’ll be more whistleblowers and they can’t have that. Can they?

I don't know, raise a ticket to another team that never looks at the ticket then say I've raised the ticket and I can't actually talk to a person from that team and there is no timeline on when the ticket will be looked at.

Honestly, this goes for every experience I’ve had and witnessed in the disability sector. I was originally hired/got my start with 0 experience or relevant work history (previously worked at a baccy shop and maccas ) to work with a high risk, complex needs client. I adored the job, it’s what I wanted to do but looking back, they absolutely should not have hired me for that client, specifically. That client needed very experienced staff, not me or many others who worked there. It put all of us, including the client at risk.

I applied a while back for an LAC position. 20 years in the sector. Complex understanding across all levels of disability support provision, varied diagnosis etc. Didn't even get an interview.

on the USA, the medical insurance companies often employ doctors to their decisioning team..doctors who have been struck off registries for malpractice or have had too many lawsuits etc. I wonder what the background for NDIA decision makers is??

Omg literally. The only question missing is “do you have absolutely any knowledge about disabilities or health conditions and their impact on people’s lives?”

It’s because big corporations don’t like people who stand up and challenge the process, especially those that “advocate” for it
