@renduh: Before watching this video, how did you assume dishwashers worked? I'd love to hear what your assumptions were! #dishwasher #turbidity #cleaning #HowItWorks #ApplianceRepair #TurbiditySensor
If u pre clean dishes beforehand u might as well wash them fully

everyone has said this for two decades about not rinsing in advance because the dishwasher won't clean as well. But you are the first person to articulate that it is because the more difficult food is what wouldn't be rinsed off in advance and not indicating to the turbidity sensor That there is stubborn food that is going to take longer. Thank you!

ya but the old dishwashers don't have to run for 199 minutes like my new one does I hate my new dishwasher I paid 1400 for a brand new Frigidaire and for a wash and sanitize it takes 199 minutes

I think this is outdated info... Dishwasher has specific time it runs in each program. The temperature is smart now... For example "auto" is 40-70⁰C based on how dirty the dishes are... Energy consumption comes from heating water not from cycling water

So, don’t rinse your dishes simply let it build up within your pump and piping of your dishwasher!😂

I think new dishwashers are intentionally worse regardless of sensors. My old as hell dishwasher doesn’t need things pre rinsed and they consistently come out nice and clean on just a timer

industrial dishwashers like ones from winterhalter still run on timers, as they reuse the water.

Wouldn’t the sensor sense water that was made cloudy by the soap?

okay so im bad at over rinsing. but we've got a stank problem where glasses smell like metallic fish. weve cleaned the filter and deodorized it. the smell returns after a while. any ideas on what might be causing this? We also notice it w glasses from rando resturants and in different cities.

based on this information I kind of think I prefer my budget dishwasher over one with the monitor. seems like higher maintenance for something that only kind of works.

What's going on with the normal vs heavy cycle then, if the sensor is already part of the system?

I do the opposite I clean off the more difficult stuff like anything chunky or burnt on but I leave the rest specifically for this reason. I don't pre-rinse anything but I will scrape off stuck on stuff because I also don't want that clogging up the drain system.
