As a fellow peds MA this is a normal reaction. Yes it can be irritating due to the fact that it takes longer and you may get behind but that’s part of the job . After kiddo is done you say “you did so good, you’re a big boy. Now you can have your choice of candy and sticker” and then you go in about your day

is there a specific reason it needed to be venous? we always do purple bullet tube for lead. long as it meets the 400 line/mark its sufficient. heck i even go up to 600 in a purple bullet tube for lead and hemoglobin
