you missed one other detail. When the groom went to his father's house there was an mediator that would go to the bride anything the bride needed the mediator would convey the message to the groom and the groom to the bride. Who did Christ say he was leaving us? The comforter the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our mediator. I've already have searched this a long time back when I was reading a Bible commentary and saw this. God revealed it to me then. about 25 years ago

I never liked how the marriage metaphor, bride and groom thing is associated with this aspect of Christianity. In heaven they neither marry or are given in marriage. Christianity and religion in general should have nothing to do with any of that type of suggestion. 🌎
