Chevy half ton frames have always been the worst. But they still last 20 years and that’s more than GM cares about. Your example of a great frame (gmt400) are famous for folding in half behind the cab when they get picked up on a car lift after spending some years in a north winter. Get real.

The Frames embodies on new cars are not designed for longevity. They're designed for crash management. The truck is designed to keep you alive. They don't care how much it carries. They don't carry how long it's gonna to last. It just has to save you in an accident. it's specially designed ultra, high straight steel. You can look it up

There is no rust holes on the channel frame because you can was the salt off of it and it won't hold water like a tube frame will

I have a first gen Tacoma witch are known to have bad rusting with there o style frames and in later gens of Tacomas used c frames to prevent rust. I do think it still has something to do with quality because my Tacomas 25 years old and has minimal surface rust
