My state mortgage and rent are almost the same. I bought my house in 2021 and the price was 240k. I see on Zillow that my estimated price is 317 to 350 which means I invest my money in my house. I know how much I paid for interest and maintenance is still good for me. Buy a house and try to pay it off within 30 years. I love my house, I don't care how much I paid in interest
