Hey Alex, when the US was in world war 2, we saw the entire US industrial base shift towards warfighting, with car and appliance factories becoming airplane and munitions factories. Would love to hear you discuss if you think (A): the US would be capable of a modern version of this and (B): what it would look like in terms of logistics AND results

Do you think the United States could beat china in production if we ever went to war? I know the United States is a giant military power and has some insane production capabilities, but china has increased theirs like crazy, and it’s interesting to think we now have a near peer advisory🙏

It would be much different if one side had the air superiority or amount of precision munitions of the USA. There would be few enemy troops close enough to the frontline to make drones relevant.

look into where the advanced microchips used in missiles come from. a war with China will disrupt the supply chain that missile production uses

Do you think it would be viable to alter the rapid dragon pallets for much smaller, less advanced missiles that could double or triple the amount of missiles launched? I had this idea today but idk if there will be a point in something like that, considering the missiles range would obviously be much much shorter than those designed for the original rapid dragon

I’d be fairly surprised if the US has the manufacturing base necessary to support a large scale war. Our best hope is that no one else can produce modern weapons at a much higher rate either.

I think they’re wasting missiles on low value targets imo. A few hit the mark but to many are just used for on infantry which Russia is treating as Canon fodder anyways.

Plenty of companies would pitch in to make components if needed. Case in point, my former company used to make cluster casings but after those were phased out we haven’t got any new defense business. They would love to make missile components now though.

More concerned with our abilty to build air defense weapons. Ukr/Rus are deploying a stunning number of drones, most relatively cheap, imagine China.

I heard somewhere than in a war with china USAF would be out of its longer ranged missiles in a matter of days, and the Navy would be little better off, unable to reload its destroyers at sea…

Yep here at Raytheon we were just briefed a couple months ago that our missile production is going to massively increase.

Alex, how does this compare to contemporary adversaries such as Iran and North Korea? Could you do a video on that? What is the production rate of those 2 against ours?

I think if you have AirPower and especially air superiority you won’t need near as many missles.
