[STORY 3] Part 9 - When the Conyo Girl Meets the Palaweño Boy ♡︎ — (Y/n’s POV) The morning felt oddly soft, like the air itself knew something important was about to happen. My phone buzzed with a short message. Jeo: nasa baba na ako, madam baby, I stared at it for a few seconds, letting the letters sink in before grabbing my bag. Paglabas ko ng building, he was there—leaning casually against his car, hair slightly tousled, sunlight catching the side of his face. He didn’t wave, didn’t smile too wide, just that quiet look that always made my heart skip. Jeo: Ready? I nodded. ⸻ The drive was tahimik pero hindi awkward. It’s the kind of silence na hindi nakakailang, yung tipong safe ka lang. One arm sa wheel, yung isa naka-rest sa bintana. The wind was messing up his hair pero wala siyang pake. Jeo: Mag picnic tayo. I blinked, caught off guard. Y/N: Picnic? Jeo: Oo. Yung simple lang. Para hindi puro trabaho at pagod ang iniisip mo. ⸻ When we got to the park, hindi siya crowded. May kids na nagpa-fly ng kites, may couples sa picnic mats, tapos may isang lolo na nagfe-feed ng pigeons. We found this big tree tapos doon kami nag-settle. Jeo unpacked the food: sandwiches, iced tea, chips, and… mangoes na naka-slice ng perfect. Y/N: Naisip mo pa ‘to? Jeo: Sabi mo dati gusto mo yung mga simpleng bagay. Eto na ‘yon. We ate slowly, nagbibiruan pa about kung sino kumakain ng mas malaki. Then I caught him staring at this little boy na may hawak na balloon, may soft smile sa lips niya. Y/N: What? Jeo: Wala. Iniisip ko lang… ang sarap pala ng ganito. Wala masyadong ingay. Wala masyadong iniisip. ⸻ After eating, we walked around. He bought me taho, tapos ako bumili sa kanya ng dirty ice cream. We laughed kasi nadumihan niya shirt niya sa ice cream. The breeze was cool, the whole vibe felt… easy. Pero ang bilis dumilim. We ended up sa isang park bench, watching the sunset paint the sky orange and pink. Jeo: Y/N… bukas na yung flight namin pabalik ng Palawan. I froze, my grip tightening on the taho cup. Jeo: Alam ko… hindi ka pa handa. I took a deep breath, forcing myself to meet his eyes. Y/N: Jeo… mahal kita. Pero… hindi pa ako ready. Hindi pa ngayon. He stayed silent, listening. Y/N: I have so much on my shoulders right now. Yung trabaho ko, yung expectations ng pamilya… parang wala akong oras para sa sarili, lalo na sa isang relationship. Natatakot ako na baka hindi ko masuklian yung pagmamahal na ibibigay mo. His jaw tightened slightly, but his eyes softened. Y/N: Ayokong masaktan ka kasi hindi ko maibigay yung deserve mo. And you… Jeo, you deserve everything. ⸻ He looked away for a moment, exhaling slowly. Jeo: Hindi kita pipilitin. Pero gusto kong marinig mo ‘to… ikaw at ikaw lang mamahalin ko habang buhay. Kahit gaano katagal, hihintayin kita. Sa Palawan. My chest ached. Jeo: At sana, sa mga panahong makita ulit kita… sana pwede pa. Sana pwede na. Tears blurred my vision. I didn’t want to cry, not today. But the words sank deep, rooting somewhere I knew I couldn’t pull them out from. Y/N: Jeo… what if by the time I’m ready, you’ve moved on? He shook his head gently. Jeo: Hindi ako titigil sa pagmamahal sa’yo. Hindi kita kakalimutan. His hand reached for my face, wiping away a tear with the back of his fingers. Jeo: Huwag kang iiyak, Madam Baby. Ayokong ganito kita maalala bukas. We sat there until the streetlights turned on, until the sounds of the park faded and it was just us… holding on to this fragile, unspoken thing between us.
