The internet was my first real exposure to gay content. To transness. All I’d known prior were my parents’ reactions to the allusions of such things. It gave me a source, something to draw from, it was reassurance once I realized my bisexuality that there wasn’t anything wrong with me. That I wasn’t a bad person. Yaoi and Yuri were literally so incredibly important for that.

Another thing I noticed and in my personal experience is that yaoi helped me realize it was actually that I was the one that wanted to be in an mlm relationship. check on these women "fetishizing" yaoi down the line and see how many of them are still identifying as women.

I was raised very religious and homophobic but discovered BL on Wattpad+Tumblr when I was 12 and it literally changed my life for the best! I’m an atheist and I love gay people now and I wouldn’t have it any other way❤️
