Because people over the age of 65 are more apt to have kidney, liver, lung & heart issues. Therefore people over 65 are also more apt to end up with fluid overload from an IV and may cause life threatening complications after the “said” infusion. This may end up being a liability for you in the form of a health issue AND for them in the form of a lawsuit.

Why are you arguing with the front desk girl that makes minimum wage? She’s not medical and can’t tell you why. They should do labs on anyone wanting IV drops, especially if you are adding things like potassium that can harm or even kill a person if they have kidney issues.

I don’t think its ageism. Older adults do often have undiagnosed issues and it’s a part of aging. There has to be a start point/age , because medically we are getting old and our body is breaking down.

I’m 60 years old. I don’t feel invisible at all. I mean I don’t feel like I get the attention as I did my whole life. It’s eased up a little bit but I’m still me. I’m a little older but I’m still so I’m not invisible.
