That’s 18 dollars a day PER PERSON IN YOUR ROOM. For a family of 4 that’s 72 dollars a day. That means a 7 day cruise could cost you 502 just in gratuity. So she is 100% right.

PRE PAY your gratuity. ANNNND tip them yourself. They are working hard, they make your stay better. Tip generously… removing automatic gratuity is crazy work.

I went on the Carnival cruise recently and I have Verizon and I did the $20 a day Wi-Fi phone works perfectly fine whole time and I will be doing that again versus purchase in the Wi-Fi packet

Anyone disagreeing with the tip advice is naive. All these cruise companies pocket the tips and don’t give to the employees. All the crew confirm it. Their pay does not change its a standard rate. If you want to help then tip them individually. Otherwise your just donating extra money to the billion dollar corporation.

Dear ppl that think she’s wrong for taking off the auto gratuity: Give the service workers cash if you want to pay them due to their hard work! They are underpaid by their employer. Give them cash ! Don’t give it to the employer that is unethically under paying them 🧠🧠🧠

I always paid gratuities until an ex crew member told me they don’t receive them on top of their pay, it’s used by the cruise company to pay their wage so your actually paying the cruise company not the staff. Definitely better tipping cash

Saying if someone can’t afford tips not to cruise is crazy smh as if I got here for free!! If I paid $500-$1000 for a cruise my vacation is accounted for idc whether I tip or not. Vacations ain’t cheap and we work just as hard. These ppl have free room and board while on these jobs. We still have rent waiting when we get back. Stop worrying about what others do.

Question about dining times. Hubs and I are cruising with my elderly parents (80’s). Travel agent gave 5:00 dining time to them, but not to us. I have requested a change. Dad will roam if we aren’t there. Will they switch us to the same time?
