@_rivertothesea: There was a day recently when Anas was reporting and the weight of the starvation hit him after seeing a woman collapse from hunger. A bystander saw and said, ‘Keep pushing Anas, you are our voice.’ With the martyrdom of Anas Al Sharif, i think it’s fair to say that he was all of our voices, Palestinian or not. He was the voice of reason, freedom, justice and peace and his words and ability to stand infront of the camera no matter how hard his day had been, reached the oppressed everywhere, giving hope to those too fearful to speak out and touching the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have witnessed his truths. He used his voice even when it hurt, even when he was grieving and hungry, even when it made him a target. He spoke for his people and his homeland and that’s something that all those who feel inspired by him should adopt too. It’s up to those outside to be his voice, to be the voice of Gaza.
