a glp-1 requires an entire mental shift. if you’re not ready to change your lifestyle, it’s useless. trust me as a big girl losing weight! hopefully this is a wake up call to take care of your health

I think people forget that while yes losing weight does help joint pain, being in pain 24/7 makes working out 100x harder. Like duh of course working out and eating healthy is the goal but you can’t do that while being in immense amount of pain

I use to be 350lbs and had terrible hip and knee pain. My PCOS made it impossible for me to lose weight on my own so I had weightloss surgery in 2023. I’ve lost almost 170lbs in total. Now I take a GLP1 to help maintain my weight and to block out the cravings and hunger that has returned. Ever since I lost the weight, NO PAIN! Whatever route you take to lose weight, you’ll do amazing 💖

I had the gastric bypass. I was 400lbs now I’m 160. Definitely DONT let them bully you into any surgery until you know all the complications and risk factors. I definitely recommend the GLP-1 to begin with, I loved it! I have chronic pain because of all the excess skin and as well because of the surgery . Good luck, you got this!

I say this with so much love and respect— I had SO many issues when I was over 300 lbs. A simple cold was crippling, I had knee pain, I had HORRIBLE acid reflux, Hidradenitis Suppurativa on my inner thighs.. The list goes on.. With diet change and weight loss it all went away. I barely ever get a cold anymore, and if I do it’s so mild. My knees have never felt better, my skin is completely healed from HS, acid reflux who.. and shockingly, my chronic ear infections are GONE. — I used to get so frustrated when a doctor would relate my skin or cold symptoms to my weight.. I could not comprehend with how the two were connected.. but they are.. and if a dr is willing to tell you that, be grateful.. bc SO many have stopped speaking up about the effects of obesity in fear of hurting someone’s feelings.. I would rather live with hurt feelings without pain than live in pain bc a dr didn’t want to be honest with me.

Losing weight (however you choose to do it) will be a huge help in reducing pain. Also reduce refined sugar intact. Sugar causes so much inflammation/pain it’s crazy. The damage to my joints from being heavy is done but the pain from sugar has been greatly reduced since eating better. It’s hard being a bigger person. Work at it every day.

My doctor kept pushing for surgery. I said absolutely not, just no, that was NOT going to happen. When asked why not, I said I don’t feel comfortable with surgery, so no. They finally offered the GLP-1.

Just adding this perspective to the mix, your pain is real and I’m glad you are seeking medical care for that pain. Do not be bamboozled into thinking losing weight will make your joint pain go away, especially if you have a cronic issue. Skinny people have joint pain too.

Hey so I also have really bad joint pain, fatigue, varicose veins etc. started at 313 lbs down to 230lbs, only recently started taking glp1, turned down weight loss surgery and I just wanna say I do not excerise, everytime ive tried to implement it it’s made my pain so much worse, you can loose weight without exercising you just need to focus on food. The goal is to get the weight off, that’s it, don’t worry about the rest, it can be sorted after but right now it’s about the weight and whatever you need to do to get it gone xx

I have post injury osteoarthritis and I’m 33 who also needs a hip replacement 😭 but honestly I’ve lost weight and I’ve started going to the gym and the pain is better — I’ve also stopped eating foods that bloat and inflame me like I was shocked how much pain I was having just from my bad diet alone but yes although we need hip replacements in the end we can still minimize some pain by losing weight and a healthy diet

As a plus size woman with chronic hip pain, my heart goes out to you. I was told for years to just go run on it and rebuild the muscle. It wasn’t until I got an mri for something unrelated that they realized I needed a hip replacement. Thinking of you and hoping you get relief soon friend !! 🖤

Make sure you are also healing any issues related to food. Glp1 will help but the minute you stop without healing you will just gain everything back. Take care of yourself girl. We in our entire healing era 🫶🏻

Zepbound has helped so much with not just the weightloss but with knee pain I was having and helped reduce my high blood pressure. It was scary to start (for me anyway) but it’s been 100% worth it.

Gastric Sleeve was my saving grace girl!! EOC in Mexico is the place to go! Honestly, I cannot beg enough, STAY AWAY FROM GLP-1's. I took tirzeptide for 4 months, lowest dose and it KILLED MY PANCREAS! I am now type 1 diabetic. DONT DO IT!!!
