Trigger warning - graphic content 20th October 2018 During the afternoon of Sunday 20 October 2018, a friend of Mr Ladas, known to the victim as *** attended the location to see the offender. The victim was dressed in shorts and seated side on to ***. The victim had their son resting on her thighs and had her feet resting on a nearby coffee table. Once *** left Mr Ladas was furious with the victim and claimed she was trying to expose herself to his friend. This caused a heated verbal argument between the two parties that continued for a couple of hours. Fearing she would be assaulted, the victim left the location and did not return until about 4:00am on Sunday 21 October 2018. Upon returning to the location, the victim placed her mobile phone on record with the intention of taking the footage to the offender’s mother as proof of Mr Ladas behaviour. The victim got into their bed and the offender rolled over the face her. Mr Ladas said, “Do you think you’re god! I hit you because you don’t listen. You aren’t allowed to leave in an argument. Maybe I should just beat the shit out of you and break all your bones like a man. Just so you get the point!”, and “If you ever leave in an argument again, I will s*** you from ear to ear, I will fully decapitate you and take your head to your parents’ house!”. This recording lasts for 1 hour and 3 minutes during which time Mr Ladas is heard to make numerous threats towards the victim, such as: “Where I find you in 2, 3 years, I’m gonna *** your throat. I’m gonna fully decapitate you and send it to your parents.” “You take off in a f***ing argument again and I’m gonna s*** you from ear to ear. Are we clear?” “We’re gonna go on with this relationship. You’re not gonna get touched, we’re gonna have arguments…..” The victim interrupts and said, “So I should put up with threats”. The offender said, “I don’t know which other road to take for you not to leave.”; “Why do I need to threaten you.” This type of communication continues for some time before the Mr Ladas falls asleep. The threats made by the offender caused the victim to feel petrified.
