When I tell y’all I absolutely love my life here in Florida, I mean it from the humidity in my hair all the way down to my flip-flops. I don’t miss Indiana one bit — not the gray skies, not the icy driveways, not the 47 layers just to check the mail. Down here, I wake up to palm trees instead of snow shovels, and that alone feels like winning the lottery. Mornings start early, usually with the kind of sunrise that makes you forget what a “bad mood” even is. I sip my coffee on the porch while the air smells like sunscreen and freedom. The birds are singing, the lizards are sprinting across the screen like they’ve got errands, and the sun is already bossing everyone around before 8 a.m. Meanwhile, Indiana’s probably out there scraping frost off windshields. Just figuratively speaking …Couldn’t be me. 😂 By noon, I’m driving down the backroads, windows down, country music up, and those pine trees are just glowing like they know they’re part of the Florida flex. The day rolls on with a random Publix run, maybe a beach detour, and a reminder that “rush hour” here means someone driving 5 mph in the left lane with their blinker on since 1998. Then comes sunset — my favorite part. The sky does this wild cotton-candy thing that makes you want to pull over and just stare like a tourist. And as the day fades out, I think, “Yep… left my snow boots in Indiana and traded them for flip-flops and peace of mind.” No regrets, no looking back, just a whole lot of sunshine and sand. ☀️🌴 When I tell y’all I absolutely love my life here in Florida, I mean it from the humidity in my hair all the way down to my flip-flops.
