@anna..papalia: Are you great at job interviews or are you great at applying to jobs that are easy to get?   I know, this can be tough to hear but stay with me.   If you tell yourself that you are great at job interviews because you have gotten every job that you have interviewed for, I bet it’s because you apply to jobs that are easy to get.   This is a subtle unconscious way that we hold ourselves back in our careers. Sure, you can hit a grand slam on the t-ball field, but can you do that in the big leagues?   Interviewing for jobs is exploratory.   Do NOT worry about getting a job offer every time you interview for a job. That should not be your metric for success.   Interviewing is like dating, two people exploring whether they each have what the other person is looking for. You do not want to marry every person you go on a date with. In the same way you do not want a job offer from every company you interview with.   Give yourself permission to interview everywhere because the more you interview the better you get.   Give yourself permission to apply to big, scary, interesting jobs that would stretch you.   Challenge yourself and see what happens. If you succeed, amazing. If you fail, great you will learn something big because you learn far more when you fail.   #failure #jobinterview #jobsearch #unemployed #corporate
