I use a scale after I discarded and just do 100g flour and water. I also used bleached bread flour and that seemed to work better for me. Mine perked up in under a week with those changes!

I've never had to use measurements when feeding. I suggest using "unbleached" all purpose flour, cuz the chemicals in the bleaching process can make it easier to kill.
