She’s paying out of pocket—but we were able to make it affordable and doable. I am able to continue doing that because of your support through the GoFundMe 💙 Last night, I got a voicemail from a woman offering encouragement to me and my team. She said that—especially right now in this country—standing up for ourselves, for women, and for what’s right really resonated with her. Every voicemail, DM, email, and text matters more than you know. Here’s what I keep coming back to: we can all stand where we are and do the next right thing. That’s all I’m doing—putting one foot in front of the other with integrity and purpose, no matter the pressure. There’s a lot of dissonance in the world right now, and it can feel paralyzing. Our family started paying out of pocket and actually pay less. I was terrified to think of what our prescription would look like, and was shocked to see that it was doable and actually saved money. I use to work at an outpatient children’s hospital and insurance wanted a child to fail 3 medications before they would approve the medication the doctor prescribed. It’s so disgusting. The work you are doing Dr Potter is incredible.

I saw a practitioner discussing if you can’t afford the healthcare premiums that keep going up and so often they refuse what is needed, to consider comparing the cost with paying out-of-pocket for annual exams, etc., and only getting catastrophic insurance. I’m curious if you have any thoughts on that. Since you obviously have so much experience dealing with the insurance companies.

thank u doc I can feel your love for the patients, you are one of a kind, as a former nurse analyst who partnered with several us hc insurance, we've been trying to stay afloat as well. We do have huddles in the past tackling cases that has a trend of not being approvable, we are learning also, we educate each other. this is highly solvable through collaboration I promise

I’m only a man, but I truly appreciate your hard work and dedication to providing for your patients! I fully agree. The healthcare system in this country needs to change because insurance TRULY ISN’T a part of HEALTHCARE!!!! we need to get over and rid of this lie that we have believed for much my life, and as an old guy.

My son is in med school, and I really don’t want him to be a Dr, just not to become part of the problem… it can be different but because of the amounts of money the insurance companies run in the government it will be difficult.
