@renat.travel: 🦘 Kangaroo Baby in Mom’s Womb – Fun Facts 1. They’re Born Super Tiny • A baby kangaroo, called a joey, is born just 30–40 days after mating. • At birth, it’s about the size of a jellybean—less than an inch long! • It has no fur, closed eyes, and underdeveloped limbs. 2. They Crawl to the Pouch • Even though it’s tiny and fragile, the joey crawls up the mom’s belly into her pouch without help! • It uses its front limbs to make the climb, guided by instinct and scent. 3. Development Continues in the Pouch • Once inside the pouch, the joey attaches to a teat and continues to grow for several months. • It stays inside for about 6–9 months, depending on the species. 4. Mom’s Milk Changes With the Joey • A kangaroo can produce different types of milk from different teats at the same time! • One kind for a newborn joey in the pouch, and another for an older joey that’s already hopping around. 5. They Can Pause Pregnancy • Female kangaroos can practice embryonic diapause, meaning they can pause the development of a fertilized egg. • If she already has a joey in the pouch and another outside, she can delay the next baby’s development until the pouch is free. 6. The Pouch is a Safe Nursery • The pouch isn’t just a pocket—it’s a warm, protective mini-womb lined with skin and muscle. • It keeps the joey safe from weather and predators while it continues to develop. 7. Joeys Return to the Pouch After Leaving • Even after a joey leaves the pouch, it often jumps back in for comfort or safety until it’s fully independent (around 1 year old).#kangaroo #australia #quinsland #beach #goodlife @GoPro
