To: Federal Trade Commission (FTC) 600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, D.C. 20580 Subject: Corporate Price Hikes and Potential Violations of Antitrust and Consumer Protection Laws #world #ftc #congressionalhearing Dear Commissioners, I am writing to formally express concern regarding substantial price increases by major corporations controlled by prominent U.S. families, which appear to be causing undue financial strain on consumers and may constitute violations of federal antitrust and consumer protection laws. The families and companies of concern include: Family	Corporation	Estimated Wealth / Revenue Walton Family	Walmart	Net worth ~$267 B; Walmart revenue in 2024 exceeded $630 B Mars Family	Mars, Inc.	Net worth ~$117 B; Mars annual sales ~$54.6 B Koch Family	Koch Industries	Net worth ~$116 B; Koch annual revenue ~$125 B Cargill‑MacMillan Family	Cargill Inc.	Net worth ~$60.6 B; private global agribusiness Johnson Family	Fidelity Investments	Net worth ~$44.8 B; assets under management in the trillions Recent pricing trends in food, household goods, energy, and consumer services indicate unusually high markups, which could violate the following federal laws: 1. Sherman Antitrust Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 1–7) Prohibits agreements or conspiracies in restraint of trade, including price-fixing or market allocation. Evidence of coordinated price hikes among major competitors may fall under this statute. 2. Clayton Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 12–27) Addresses anti-competitive practices, mergers, and acquisitions that may substantially lessen competition. Excessive market consolidation enabling coordinated price increases may constitute a violation. 3. Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 41–58) Prohibits “unfair or deceptive acts or practices.” Artificially inflating prices or exploiting dominant market positions could be considered unfair trade practices. 4. Robinson-Patman Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 13, 13a) Restricts discriminatory pricing and predatory pricing intended to harm competition. Differential markups on essential goods may disproportionately affect consumers and small businesses. Given the extreme wealth of the families listed above and the scale of the companies they control, these price hikes have a significant nationwide impact, disproportionately affecting low- and middle-income Americans. I respectfully request that the FTC: Investigate recent price increases across these major corporations, Examine whether coordination or market dominance is resulting in anti-competitive practices, and Take appropriate enforcement actions to ensure compliance with federal antitrust and consumer protection laws. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. Ensuring fair market practices is critical for protecting consumers and maintaining competitive, transparent markets in the United States.
