Wait no you’re cooking. Could this tie into Kaufmo’s drawing of Caine chasing him? Did Kaufmo understand that Caine will drag them back into the circus if they get too close to the exit? And because Kaufmo knew so much and was so close, Caine forced him into abstraction. Then he tried to do the same Pomni later through her dream sequence because she got too close to the truth? (Caine’s line about her being “totally spoiled” after finding she’s in the void)

Hear me out If kinger gets abstracted, they all get free The game only ends if the king is checkmated, rather, if he is TRAPPED you need to make the king have no way to escape, then, making you win/making the game END. My theory is, everybody turns against kinger and they get out of the simulation

This theory also makes me think that Caine is not an AI, he just BELIEVED he was, and he has that much control of the Circus cause he understands how it works. Since he never mentioned it, anyone else knows about this. He's having glitches because he can abstract like a human, because he IS one.

the thing is, while it's possible Gooseworx wasn't being fully honest or it will change, we're told he's not necessarily aggressive. I think if this is the exit it's a mixture of "he doesn't know what's out there so he's pulling them back for what he believes is their own safety" and like many games, there's probably SOMETHING to stop players from going "out of bounds", since he senses that she did and goes to retrieve her. Many games do teleport you back if you wander out of bounds to prevent you from breaking it
