@charlotteenfrance: there is so much work to be done in the resistance and orgs like @thepeoplessickday and @generalstrikeus @PaulForEquality🇺🇸💙🌈 @Karress Marie are working really hard to build resistance. but in parallel, I think we have to help those most likely to be harmed get out #helpmeleave
Thanks for say this. As a trans woman I am leaving the US because this isn’t my fight. I have fought to exist my whole life. Now I just want to live somewhere and feel some semblance of safety.

I’m disabled. I can’t fight. I can barely walk thru the grocery store without passing out. I just want to be safe.

It angers me so much the people are harassing others and calling them cowardly for leaving. You must do what you feel is fight for you. I hope everyone gets to their safe harbor.

Honestly, as a gay man in the south, I would be happy if I could get out of the south even if to just another state, but I honestly don't believe the south will ever fight the regime. These states literally fight gay rights all the time.

I really appreciate you mentioning disabled people in all of your discussions. I feel like we're so often forgotten in these conversations. We've been targeted since the beginning of covid (and before but much worse since) but most people forget we exist because we're basically invisible.

As a gay man, I desperately want to flee the USA and immigrate to Europe. The biggest probably is securing a long term visa that leads to citizenship. I have a 4yr Marketing degree. Help 💔

Where would we go? It seems a lot of countries aren't far behind us. I fear when the US falls others will follow.

Existence is resistance, therefore leaving is fighting.

But how do we leave? Especially if you don’t have a degree and can’t afford to leave? No country I know of are taking asylum claims for disabled or queer persons. I feel so trapped, I am terrified for myself and my kids.

What about more people fighting sooner; more fiercely? I don't know the history of the resistance well, but are we past that point already? I understand hope is low, but if germans had fought back earlier or more aggressively, could it have changed it? Or do you think that we are too out-pewed by a stronger will and fewer scruples?

I'm torn because I am a demographic that is safe to stay and fight, but I have 3 elementary school aged daughters. I am so worried about what the next few years have in store for them.

What’s your opinion of the UK in terms of safety for trans people? I have a family member I’m concerned for, and the UK is the easiest place for us to go as we have dual citizenship

I'm disabled. I'm literally TRAPPED here b/c other countries WILL NOT accept me if I am going to be a "strain" on their "resources. I'm absolutely terrified b/c I KNOW I'm not safe here.

As an American our family is conflicted about leaving vs fighting. We are a gay couple with adult ish children. We have built a nice life for ourselves here. Many people just don’t see the red flags like we do and are going about life as normal. Leaving is scary, staying is scary. For now we are prepping to leave and stay if that makes sense.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. And my family immigrated from Austria and England, and honestly given today’s political environment here and the USA’s demise, I would move back to Austria. But they don’t allow dual citizenship.
