I found the video to be pretty funny, but it rubbed me the wrong way. The fetichism of casual is a little bit annoying it reminds me of back in the day when people complained about try hards in video games. Also I play cedh a ton with friends and it can also be played in a casual way the game just might end around turn 3-5.

he also hates commander in general and much prefers draft and sealed, to each their own but it would be hard to have a magic dedicated yt channel without playing magics biggest format. cedh gets a bad wrap when people go into it without the mentality of cedh

I believe the term is toxic casuals. They exist and harm the game more every time they try to police it to maintain the “fun” of the game.

cEDH is different than tEDH too. cEDH is just EDH at the highest power level. You can play with lame people in cEDH but that’s the same in any commander game.

Are you a better player if you learn about the deck, compared if I net deck and don’t understand a strong deck. Best to stick to a deck learn it and build on that deck? I keep making decks bc I feel they are weak, then go on to a new deck.

cEDH has been made out to be some boogie man, convinced my pod to play a couple games and legit they said it was one of the least saltiest experiences we’ve had in a long time. I’m not in to playing 3 hour games, or games where people take 20 minute turns

I enjoyed the episode, and I enjoy almost all of MC’s content, but to be frank he hates on EDH in nearly every episode. He plays a hateful character when it comes to magic and maybe he’s doing it for a bit or he’s actually jaded from the way magic has progressed over the years.

I don’t think Meatcanyon is a very competitive player period. Even in the video being referenced he scoops when he has the most permanents on board because he doesn’t understand the etali deck nor has any interest in learning the format. He clearly likes lower powered games that allow him and his friends to mess around and allow more game actions than the back and forth of cedh. Plus gotta give credit where credit is due: Nick literally said in the video if you want to see *actual* cedh check out play to win’s channel. They knew it was a drunken mess.

Eh I think it’s worth shitting on because there’s a bunch of content creators who push CEDH as “the right way to play commander because you can’t get salty about cards” but like it’s not fun for most people it’s not even what most casual people enjoy about commander. I think we need more voices speaking up for keeping casual goofy and fun commander alive and respected. And I’m totally not biased from working on his Naruto short 😬

I think that channel is mostly run by the two dudes that were across from MC and one of them shouted out Play2Win so I think they have passing knowledge but we're playing drunk and unfamiliar with their decks.

It’s sometimes embarrassing to watch hunter play at all. They barely understand the game to begin with. He also just spews slurs in his magic videos
