I’m half Algerian & I have 0 MENA friends (unless you count my Persian one) the behaviour is too embarrassing. I feel like the ones who don’t play into this are hard to find, because we’re putting in effort to avoid letting everyone know where we’re from to A) not be associated with this embarrassment and B) to avoid these people finding us 😭 at least that’s the case for me IDK
