yo, I came in on a Friday after work and I was so motivated to like make multiple things today, but for some reason I could not center any of the clay that I put on the wheel. I was getting very very flustered, and I did not know what to do. It was kind of frustrating because I thought I was putting in extra work coming in during open studio hours and practicing the wheel. I know that like you can’t just learn this really quickly and be perfect at it but I thought I would get better, I felt like I went back a few steps this session and I was feeling very disappointed and every time I try to reenter it or I would just really focus and close my eyes and just really feel the clay. It just wasn’t working every time I felt like I was getting close to centering I would accidentally knock it off center and it would become so wobbly that my whole body was like shaking back-and-forth, eventually I did kind of make a bowl but I’m not very good at pulling up the wall so there were some thin spots. I ended up just crushing it in my day because you have good days and you have bad days and today was definitely a bad day. My six weeks session at the claim room is almost up and we are not throwing the wheel anymore. The next two classes are dedicated to glazing, so that’s what I’ll be doing during my next classes I’m going to be trying to design some pieces for the underglaze and hopefully I will get some thing in the kiln. #pottery #ceramics #ceramicsclass ##potteryclass##clay
