Welcome to day 99 of #kilometrecrochet 🚐 🧶 where I crochet one row everyday to represent how many kilometres we drive in a day. Today we spend time with old people. And by old I mean 565 million years old, and people I mean fossils 🤪 But also cause it’s a guided interpretative hike and we are usuallllllyyyy (not always) the youngest people there 🤷🏻‍♀️ So we finally got off the guided hike waitlist! And now we get to see, walk on, and touch fossils!!! How cool! Here are some things I didn’t have time to say in the video (big shock) The guides were awesome. They were two local gals from this area and I thinkkkkkk they may even have been related cause they had the same nose. Cynthia even sang us a song because a well known Newfoundland musician had family here and one of his songs talked about his uncle that lived in a nearby house she pointed out. Also she mentioned, awhile back, when men used to camp out here for the summer to fish for cod, they left the wives and children in town 30km away. But once a year, they had a garden party on a Sunday. So they’d walk 30km to go to the party to drink beers and have fun and hen walk 30km back to their fishing huts. Along the way there were houses and people kept their doors unlocked and would put food and drink out so the men would have something to eat along the way and they’d just let themselves in without bothering the family and then walk on. I thought that was a nice story. Thanks for watching and see you tomorrow 😊#kilometrecrochet #vanlife #roadtrip #canada
