Religion should not be taught to children. They should be taught how to be kind, respectful, honest and hardworking individuals. When religion asks children to simply accept their dogmas despite being against logic, it stumps the child's critical thinking abilities.

I never felt anything or saw any “signs.” For years I thought I was doing something wrong and just went with the flow. Finally woke up and said no more. I couldn’t fake it any longer. Not to mention people in the church are really terrible people and I didn’t want to be lumped in with their craziness. Best decision ever.

religion is not God. How do you know, there is no God. That also is a belief. Nothing comes from nothing so there has to be a creator. Maybe we do not have the full picture now, or the understanding of the fullness of Why we were created Maybe one day we will, and if there's nothing that won't matter as long as we live a good respectful loving life.

I got involved with Evangelical Christianity as I had a bit of a rough childhood. My Mother had Bipolar 1 Disorder. I was dating a guy in high school whose family got me into it. I was very involved in college also as I had low self esteem and everyone to like me. At first it was great but soon enough the cognitive dissonance set in. I was deeply involved for about 6 years. It took me a long time to get totally free from the indoctrination.
