He’s absolutely correct. I had a playlist at 180BPM so my pace matched the rhythm and I was able to run my first 5k at 28 min

The way you speak as though you’re back floating in a pool… fab breath control and capacity. 👍

Pacing with music is a problem I have because I adjust to it as a musician so having a consistent playlist at 180 BPM never occurred to me but is genius

I have a running playlist that increases from my comfy cadence 156 to my desired 180 cadence. Be careful with the Spotify running playlists claiming to be a certain bpm. I found a 120 bpm song in a “170 bpm” playlist. Take some time and make your own. It will make it more enjoyable too!

Love the tips here! I’m training for my first half marathon and really didnt know anything about cadence until your video. I’ve been struggling with slowing my mile time down because the training plan I’m using wants me to train at slower paces so I guess I don’t gas myself out. With the slower paces I always feel like I’m running these short choppy steps. I think your advice about a running playlist at 170-180bpm will really help! Going to try this on my long run this weekend! 💗

Aside from just matching to the best, do you have any good thoughts for increasing cadence? As opposed to just general form thoughts like shoulders back, head up. But should I be thinking about pushing off as much or raising my leg more immediately? Thoughts like that involving the legs for increasing cadence

How far are you typically running/pace? Cus it looks like you started right behind my apartments and I’ve never thought of running to Katy trail from there lol
