Summary: On an undisclosed date, while contracted to provide security services at Denny’s Lloyd Center, we encountered a male subject with whom we have had multiple prior contacts. The subject has previously refused to comply with management’s instructions requiring a mask and valid identification in order to access the video poker area. On this occasion, the subject entered the establishment and immediately went to the video poker section. When approached, he refused repeated requests from my partner and myself to produce valid identification. After consultation with the manager, the decision was made to remove and trespass the subject from the premises. The subject was contacted and given multiple opportunities to comply voluntarily. He was advised that failure to leave would result in physical removal. While I repositioned chairs to prevent property damage, the subject initially made some progress toward the exit but began resisting by shoving his feet into the ground, requiring physical escort. During this process, he attempted to strike my partner with his right elbow. This action was not fully captured on my body-worn camera due to the angle. The subject was successfully removed from the building. Upon exiting, he continued to make verbal threats toward staff and security before leaving the property. Additional Notes: The subject has an extensive criminal history and has been trespassed from numerous private businesses throughout the Portland metro area.
