@cieriarenee: did the pandemic take some of my confidence …. or was it something else lmao #socialmedia #vulnerability #assetbasedfriendship #makingfriends #friendship
Yessss! I had to shift my perspective, partially by being delusional but having faith whatever I choose it’s going to be alright

I absolutely feel the same way and both are way more connected than we realize. The lack of control is bc were the first generation that truly is feeling the effect of alll the bad decisions of the generations before us plus we are experiencing so many first that no one could have even predicted. Now add that in with the fact our parents were raised by the baby boomer generation and they passed a lot of trauma onto our parents and the lack of community in day to day lives then and now it puts you in this constant state of worry because you don’t want to make anything worse. If you can’t control the outside world then you try to control what’s on the inside which makes you hyperaware of everything you do causing you to always feel like you did something wrong.

I’m a millennial teaching Gen-Z college kids. Some of it is the lack of in-person experience and reaction bc of covid online. So you’re working through social skills like maintaining friendships and solving conflicts in person, and many folks didn’t learn proper manners bc they didn’t get to practice in a classroom. My personal mantra is “it’s not my responsibility to guess why someone’s mad at me, it’s their job to let me know.”

Lowkey, I always see opposite sides of the pendulum (someone who thinks it's ALWAYS them, and someone who thinks it's NEVER them), but I haven't seen the happy medium yet
