@coffeecuriositiesandmore: 𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗡 𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗜 𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗚 Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia was robbed by a "salisi gang" while dining at a restaurant in Pasay City on Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2025. The incident occurred at around 12:50 p.m. at a restaurant along Roxas Boulevard Service Road in Barangay 10. Six suspects posing as regular customers took advantage of the situation to steal Garcia's bag, which was placed beside his chair. The bag contained cash, a cellphone, and identification cards. Garcia mentioned that the cellphone stolen is rarely used and contained no important information. The police identified three suspects named Romson, Alberto, and Jun through CCTV footage and confirmed them as members of the "salisi gang," who use distraction tactics for theft. One woman suspect named Hazel was arrested, while five others remain at large. Garcia intends to pursue legal cases against the suspects to prevent them from victimizing others again.
