Maybe my perspective is contrary to popular belief but the only one who can give you that fulfillment and happiness is God. No one person should depend on another for that. And yes Marriages are meant to help us grow, your spouse is literally your mirror but in saying that, also means things won’t be easy. Where I disagree with this lady, I do think you should stick it out through good or bad because the blessing of a fruitful relationship is seen this way. I don’t think you should stick it out if you are not being treated well or against your rights (That’s completely different). We should however as spouses serve each other according to the one true God who created and ordained marriage. This is literally the hat selflessness looks like. So ones’s happiness she not be at the expense of your marriage or relationship we both have roles to fulfill that is nonnegotiable. If we are talking about taking care of ourselves that is important because that can speak to mental health, perspective etc but again once you focus on God he will lead and direct you. It’s a bit of a stretch to connect what she said to the points you made afterwards not denying that this the feminist movement’s agenda, but I don’t see all that from what was said. She seems a little misguided and is searching for something she may not completely understand but I can’t in good conscience place her in that category.

RHB :
There’s not one reference in any of the holy books of any religion that says happiness is the goal, but somehow they’ve been corrupted to believe that. that’s why long-term people r miserable at least most of them. we are too wired for companionship by nature.
