This is a joke right? I have dived all over the world and on a scale 1-10 I give Hawaii a 2 from shore and only a 3-4 at the very best spots which you must use a boat to reach. Okinawa I give a high 7 from shore and a 9+ when you take a boat to the really good islands/spots. Hawaii doesn’t even make the top 50 places I have dived

I’ve never snorkel off the coast of Japan, but I have snorkel off of the big island and I thought I died and went to heaven. It was absolutely gorgeous.
