Maybe you should do a workshop in the Gurdwara and raise awareness I’m thinking of talking at my local mosque I think it would be great and helpful for people to understand

One advice I would suggest go to the gurdwara and have a meeting with them. They would teach to the sangat on a Sunday. They will try and teach everyone.

The elders mean well but they do not understand or know how to approach or converse in these situations

Im not elderly but i cannot always recognize a disability or autism. I might not say something but I would think the same thing like why is no one putting a rumaal. People just don’t always know. Not sure how we can change it tho.

There is a Sikh neurodivergent group that support parents with neurodivergent children for places like gurdwara, making gudwara aware of your situation and how they can support you while attending the gurdwara. They are called INCLUSEVA, give them a shout x

Those people saying wear a cap, there are usually signs saying no caps or bobble hats. I went to the Gurdwara on a freezing winters day and sevadars had a go at 2 people wearing bobble hats. It’s getting ridiculous now.

The problem is there are too many busy bodies in the Gurdwara that get involved in other people's business in the Gurdwara.

I think ANYONE who goes to the Gurdwara should be given some love when your chunni or rumaal is not on or it falls off or you don’t know the customs of what to do with it including as a child with or without disability. I have been yelled at over the years as child by many & still get anxious as an adult (55) if my chunni falls off. The power tripping must stop ✋🏽

I took my son to church as we are Christians, they were so understanding, but I was so overwhelmed and I've not been back, I just had major sensory overload by him running around and they did their absolute best in meeting his needs but I just felt it was to much for me. I am my own worst enemy with my anxiety.
