I had a dentist get mad at me when I told him I could still feel everything. He said there's no way because they gave me so much. It's why I have dental trauma. It was like being tortured and it was terrible.

I had to get a wisdom tooth removed in my left lower quadrant. They used so much lidocaine that I had reached the max of how many a person can get. My dentist got to the unfortunate conclusion that I would have to feel the entire procedure. I was completely aware and felt as he broke it in 3 pcs and then extracted each piece. I FELT EVERY EVERYTHING!!!! 😭😭

My epidural didn’t work fully and I felt my entire c section during my child’s birth. They told me it was not possible. I then screamed at the doctors that I feel the knife cutting into me. They finally put me entirely under.

Omg yes I had an operation in my foot with local anaesthetic and could feel EVERY SINGLE THING it was excruciating

The anesthesia didn’t work during both my c-sections, so I now know what it feels like to be sort of disemboweled, which sucks but I am an historian so I guess I just have something incommmon with people in the past. Yay EDS!

It’s weird bc I’m super sensitive to general anesthesia and it takes me forever to wake up, but locals stop working pretty quickly. When I had an epidural, I went numb head to toe, couldn’t feel to push, and almost stopped breathing, but felt when the local wore off during stitches (I didn’t know I had any genetic issues, don’t come for me for having kids please)

Eds plus being a red head 😭 went into surgery and the anesthesiologist came in-- first thing she said after looking straight at me was "we're gunna add more, I see that red hair" then also noticed my paperwork 💔❤️

Lidocaine has never worked for me. I tell doctors all the time to the point I told a pain doc that it doesn’t work. He refused to listen and used it anyway during a spinal shot and I felt EVERYTHING. I was so upset and angry that he not only didn’t believe me but insisted he do it his own way.

I go to Pittsburgh Dental School for dental work and I've been teaching them about EDS anesthesia and gum issues. The professors there are really receptive and have been really good at updating their information about it.

Is this the same for other kinds of anesthesia? Because I had to have stitches a few years ago, the anesthesia did nothing for me and I lied to the doctor cause I wanted to go home... but I felt everything basically

I felt my vein being burned during radiofrequency ablation of my saphenous vein even with “extra” local anesthetics. 🫣

Childhood trauma….imagine screaming in pain and a dentist reassuring your mother that it is just me reacting to drill noise/feeling. Ma’am, I’ve given her enough for four grown men. Even as an adult most dentist don’t understand. I have to wait at least 45 - hour and my window is short. I refuse to be numb for 24 hours because they won’t listen to me.
