🧪 A flaky scalp is the worst, especially if you have dark hair like me because it looks even more obvious. Regularly exfoliating my scalp kept my flakes away, but I noticed that sometimes I would still see smaller sized flakes. After doing some research, I realized these smaller flakes were not dandruff, but a sign of a dehydrated scalp. And it makes so much sense - I regularly use both physical and chemical exfoliants on my scalp in addition to shampoo, but I never use a hydrating leave on product! Our scalp is skin too, so of course it would be dry. Luckily, there are now plenty of scalp serums from the market to choose from. I’ve been loving using the Natural Moisturizing Factors + Hyaluronic Scalp Serum from @The Ordinary after washing and drying my hair. I take a few drops and make sure to massage it onto clean and dry scalp. The formula is lightweight, hydrating, and doesn’t leave my roots greasy. Once I started using a scalp serum along with my scalp exfoliation, my scalp felt more calmed and the little flakes went away!
