Definitely not an expert but now that I’m 40, my skin has definitely changed. What worked for me before doesn’t hit the same anymore. So here are a few things I’ve switched up and now focus on—not to look younger, but to look glowing and fresh. ✨ Skin prep is everything. I keep my skincare simple before makeup. My non-negotiables? Toner pads or a hydrating toner, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, a hydrating moisturizer, and sunscreen. It’s all about hydration for me. A good base starts with well-prepped skin—so I give it time to absorb before applying anything else. 🧴 Sunscreen = primer. I usually skip traditional primers and go for hydrating, brightening sunscreens instead. But if I do use a primer, I avoid silicone-based ones since they can dry me out and cause creasing. 🧴 Tinted sunscreen or moisturizer over foundation. I love coverage, but these days, I opt for tinted moisturizers or sunscreens for their added skin benefits and protection. I only reach for foundation occasionally. 🖌️ Targeted concealing only. For dark circles, acne marks, or uneven tone, I use a creamy, non-drying concealer—but only in the areas that I really need it. 👁️ Go easy on the brows. Overly dark, arched brows can age the face. If you have thick brows, a simple grooming gel will do. For thinner brows, try a lighter shade and a straighter shape—it softens the face and takes years off. 💖 Blush is everything. When you’re using less base, blush brings your face back to life. I love glowy liquid or cream blushes topped with a bit of powder blush for extra pop and longevity. 👁️ Lashes: less is more. Yes, lashes open up the eyes—but overly thick, long, or heavy lashes can cast shadows and look harsh in photos. Go for lighter, more natural styles. 💋 Skip the matte, embrace the gloss. Glossy or satin lips are more flattering, especially if you have dry or textured lips. Matte formulas can highlight lines and make the lips look smaller or harsher. A glossy finish adds youth and softness, even if you have to reapply more often. 🎨 Eyeshadow? Keep it light. Dark shades can be harsh—try softer tones or lighter palettes to brighten your eyes and lift your look. I usually dont do eye make ups, I just use the remainder in my contour brush usually. ✨ Highlighter is your best friend. Apply it to the high points of your face (cheekbones, brow bones, nose bridge) for that healthy, glowing finish. I love highlighters. Choose one that doesnt have chunky glitters. 💦 Finish with a hydrating mist. A setting mist not only helps your makeup last, it also gives you that fresh, dewy glow we all love. Follow for more realistic glow-up tips for women in their 30s and 40s. #fyp #agingskin #glowuptips #viral #GlowUp #makeup #skintok #trending #skintokph #skincareroutine #agingskincare #agingskin #matureskin #momtok #momlife #CapCut #makeuphacks
