There’s a reason why every sect of Christianity whether orthodox, catholic, Methodist or Baptist view Mormonism as a blasphemous cult. I advise you look into why that is, for I believe if you do enough introspection and reasearch you’ll find the evidence overwhelming.

They did spiritually die though, they had to leave the garden and couldn’t physically walk with God any longer. Yes God was still with them and blessed them but they needed saving from their sin to be with god again.

The fruit wrought a change in their bodies, one of which made them mortal (able to die), which isn’t clearing stated, but after God finds out they partook of the fruit, he tells them the consequences in 16-19 and does say “unto dust shalt thou return”. So, since God never stated this before the transgression and God also said they would die if they ate the fruit, it’s fair to assume their bodies were different and couldn’t die before they partook. The lie Satan spoke was when he told Eve she wouldn’t die, when God literally told them they would. It’s so weird to me that they think Satan lied when he told Eve she would become like the Gods when God literally states “Behold, the man is become as one of us”. Like how is this even a debate?!
