@hey.doggee: Can you help us help Bobby? ❤️‍🩹 Bobby’s family called us for help for him after they found our contact details through a friend. They were very worried that their beloved eight year old Bobby might have been poisoned as he suddenly became very sick, weak and refused food. We rushed to his rescue and admitted him instantly to a clinic which his family was very grateful for. Here the vets connected him immediately to the IV line for stabilization while conducting all necessary testings. Thankfully poisoning could be ruled out but it was discovered that Bobby suffers from a severe parasitic blood infection. This is transmitted to dogs by a tick. The parasite thrives in the red blood cells and when an infected parasite taps onto a dog, the infection is spread and passes on as they move and feed from one dog to the next. The red blood cells are targeted and these are the cells which carry the oxygen in the bloodstream.  Symptoms include loss of appetite, tiredness, weakness, pale gums, depression, weight loss, fever, vomit, diarrhea, blindness and paralysis. In serious cases the red blood count level (PCV) drops to a life threatening stage. Blood parasite is a silent killer. Undiagnosed and untreated it leads to organ failure and therefore to death. Bobby is now hospitalized to receive the medical treatment that he needs to help him recover.
