@truckingtruecrime: A petition has been filed change.org calling for the leniency of truck driver Harjinder Singh. Singh was the truck driver accused of causing a crash that killed three people on the Florida Turnpike. This petition has gained popularity and now has gained nearly 2.5 million signatures. The petition has been addressed to the Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and also the Florida Board of Clemency. This petition is urging them look over and reexam this case. The truck driver Harjinder Singh is 28 years old, and is in our country illegally and now faces 3 counts of vehicular homicide and also 3 counts of manslaughter. Authorities say that Singh was driving a semi truck on August 12th when he made an illegal U-turn. The trailer jackknifed and a mini van collided into his trailer, killing all three people inside. Singh is behind bars, and has been denied bail. The petition states “This was a tragic accident-not deliberate act. While accountability matters, the severity of the charges againest him does not align with the cirumstances of the incident.”In the petition they are also asking that he receive parole after his reasonable sentence is served and are asking for alternatives to jail like counseling, community service be considered. Why did all the other cars slow down when they saw him make a U-turn but the minivan did not even hit the brakes. They must not have been paying attention or the minivan was on the phone.
